Veepower is proud to have won the Supercharge Australia #2: Retrofit Nation Award at the 2024 Supercharge Australia Innovation Challenge! This year’s challenge, hosted by EnergyLab and New Energy Nexus, centered on accelerating the transition of Australia’s vehicle fleet to electric, with the goal of developing a scalable solution capable of retrofitting over 10 million vehicles.

Veepower, an offshoot of Melbourne-based electric vehicle controls consultancy Cuedo Controls, introduced its innovative solution, the Veepower Veepilot. The Veepilot simplifies the process of retrofitting vehicles by providing a comprehensive, plug-and-play control system that integrates supervisory control of critical components for the powertrain, body, and charging. Unlike traditional solutions that often require bespoke software development or complex integration of various third-party systems, the Veepilot offers a unified platform that streamlines the conversion process. This plug-and-play system reduces the technical complexity and time required for retrofitting, making it easier and more cost-effective for vehicle converters, builders, and integrators to transition vehicles to electric drivetrains.

What sets the Veepilot apart in the market is its flexibility. While it offers seamless integration, it also allows builders to select their own components — whether it's the motor, battery, or charging infrastructure — giving them the freedom to tailor the retrofit to the specific requirements of each project. This adaptability is crucial in a market where one-size-fits-all solutions often fall short of meeting the diverse needs of different vehicle types, from light passenger cars to heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

The Veepower solution builds on over eight years of electric vehicle software development experience and expertise accumulated through working with more than 100 different models of electric vehicles. The Veepilot represents the culmination of the engineering team's final design and vision for a safe, efficient, and scalable retrofit control solution.

Starting in 2025, Veepower will begin shipping 200 pilot units of the Veepilot to builders and integrators selected for its exclusive pilot program. This marks an important step in scaling the Veepilot solution and gathering valuable feedback from industry professionals. Veepower is actively inviting integrators to reach out and join the program, offering them the opportunity to be among the first to test and implement this innovative retrofit control system.

Starting in 2026 and beyond, Veepower plans to scale the Veepilot globally, expanding its reach into key international markets, including the United States. This strategic growth will include tapping into the white-labeling market, allowing partners to integrate the Veepilot technology into their own offerings under their own brands. This expansion will help accelerate the adoption of EV retrofitting and contribute to a more sustainable, electrified transportation future on a global scale.

Veepower is actively seeking to raise $3 million in capital, either through investment or supply contracts, to accelerate the development and scaling of its Veepilot retrofit control system.
